Delivery & Returns
We aim to pack and despatch your goods within 1 business day of receipt of your order, subject to payment authorisation and stock availability. If for any reason there is likely to be a delay in despatching your order, we will notify you by e-mail. Payments by cheque will be despatched after the cheque has cleared.
Delivery charges will be added in the shopping cart as you proceed through the checkout process, and are as follows:
Delivery Within the UK
FREE SHIPPING ON UK ORDERS OVER £100!! All UK orders over £100 will be despatched with no added postage charges. Unfortunately this does not apply to Overseas orders.
Standard Delivery (First Class / Parcel) – £2.95. Please allow 3-5 working days. Items will be sent by First Class mail or Standard Parcel, depending on the size and weight. First Class mail is insured for up to £20 and Standard Parcels are insured for up to £20; for additional insurance options see below.
Special Delivery – £8.95. 1-2 working days (covers 99% of the UK – please see the Royal Mail website). Items will be sent by Special Delivery Next Day service; if you place your order before 12pm on a working day, your order will be despatched the same day and you will receive your goods the next working day. If you place your order after 12pm, or on a non-working day, your goods will be despatched on the next working day and you will receive your goods one day later. Please note Special Delivery items will need to be signed for. Special Delivery is insured up to £500.
Additional Insurance - Sewbox always obtains Certificates of Posting and will be happy to make a claim on behalf of customers should items be lost by Royal Mail. Unfortunately we cannot take responsibility for loss of items once they go in the post, so if your items are worth more than the insurance rates outlined for each delivery option, you may wish to obtain additional cover. If you would like to purchase additional insurance, or have your parcel sent by another carrier, we will be happy to accommodate this - please contact us to arrange. We will then send you a Paypal invoice for any additional insurance or carrier costs.
UPDATE 04/04/2023: For EU Shipments, there may be delays to shipments now that the UK has left the EU single market. We are doing everything possible to ensure customs paperwork is in order to expedite your delivery. BEWARE: There now may be import taxes/charges to receive delivery of your order, bear this in mind when placing your order.
For all other International Shipments, You may also incur additional import duties or customs charges levied in your country, which may also slow down delivery of your order.
All International Deliveries will be sent tracked and signed to ensure delivery and to inform customers of the location of their order at all times. International delivery rates are indicative, and are based on say 2 patterns or 2 metres of fabric, and they may vary for larger, more bulky or heavier orders. We will notify you before despatch of any changes in the delivery cost and will offer you the opportunity to cancel your order should you wish to do so.
Indicative Charges are:
Europe - £16.00 per delivery address; please allow 12-14 working days.
USA - £30.00 per delivery address; please allow 12-14 working days.
Rest of World - £28.00 per delivery address; please allow 12-14 working days.
We hope that you are very happy with your order. If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return items in their original condition (including packaging), for a full refund within 7 working days of receipt of the items (excludes postage costs). Please contact us first before you return the goods. We also recommend that you receive a Certificate of Posting or use Recorded Delivery as we cannot accept liability for returns lost in transit. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
We carefully examine all goods before we pack them for despatch, to ensure they reach you in perfect condition. However if an item you receive is faulty or damaged, please contact us within 2 working days of receipt to arrange for a replacement or refund. We will discuss arrangements for return of the damaged goods and issuing a replacement or refund. It is important you contact us before returning the item so that we can agree arrangements for return of the damaged goods, as compensation levels vary and we cannot accept liability for returns lost in transit.
