Liberty Lasenby Cotton - Craft Garden - Tapestry Trail 01667457C
The Craft Garden collection whisks us back to the early 1900s, celebrating the remarkable artistry of designer, May Morris, daughter of the legendary William Morris. Inspired by her creative charisma and technical prowess, these poetic patterns capture the essence of the Arts & Crafts movement through her meticulously detailed embroideries. The designs, imbued with a sense of symmetry, movement, and flow, reflect the style that played a pivotal role in defining Liberty’s early history and securing its place as one of the design house’s most iconic design pillars.
Tapestry Trail - Discovered as a hand-painted artwork in the Liberty archive, this majestic botanical was reinterpreted as a delicately embroidered tapestry. Its ornamental ogee trail follows a characteristic Arts & Crafts mirrored repeat, adorned with a plethora of stylised roses, sunflowers, daisies, lilies, and honeysuckle.
The collection is traditionally screen printed onto Lasenby cotton, a base specifically developed for quilting and craft projects.
