Liberty Tana Lawn Elysian Smock (above) - Looking back to Liberty's 1887 childrenswear department and the enduring charm of smocked dresses from that era, this unusual pattern is a fresh take on Liberty's beloved classic, Elysian.  Delicate diamond-shaped stitches create a series of textured pleats and folds, creating the illusion of a beautifully nostalgic floral fabric gathered into a garment.

This iconic fabric, Paisley Fanfare -to us here at Sewbox really is the statement fabric that represents 150 years of Liberty.  Melding a rich tapestry of 1950's and 1960's paisley scarf designs from the Liberty archive, this theatrical pattern revels in the beauty of the artistic process.  Crafted through collaging, transforming, and selective editing, Paisley Fanfare revitalises the traditional paisley motif with a spontaneous interplay of unfinished and intricately detailed elements.

In celebration of artist Sir Grayson Perry's 65th birthday, London's Wallace Collection has curated an exhibition of Perry's life and work.  The exhibition's central muse has inspired Perry's original design for Liberty's 150th anniversary collection.
