Colette Patterns 1013 – Crepe Wrap Dress – available for pre-order

by Leah Taylor on September 14, 2010

Well ladies, the new Colette Patterns Crepe Wrap Dress has been well worth the wait! I’ve been eagerly waiting for this pattern ever since Sarai told me she was planning a new summer pattern in our interview in June. And here is style 1013 – the Crepe wrap dress…

What a simple and clever design – it doesn’t look like a wrap dress at all! The dress ties in the back, and I love the fact that unlike most wrap dresses, it isn’t made using jersey, but instead is suitable for cotton lawns, crepes, shirtings and linens. It would be the perfect match for many of the new Liberty crepes and poplins or Westfallenstoffe cottons in at Sewbox.

The pattern was only released yesterday so I haven’t had the chance to examine it in detail yet, but no doubt it will live up to Colette Pattern’s usual high standards of top notch drafting paired with easy to follow and clear instructions. It looks very quick and simple to sew, with a sophisticated, polished result. I am tempted to sew one up for my daughter’s christening (as an outfit for me, not her!). First, I have to sew her christening gown, but that’s a different story 🙂

So, back to the Crepe Wrap Dress- this is now available for pre-order in my shop! Buy it now for delivery when the first stocks arrive in the UK (anticipated arrival date is in the week beginning 27th September).

And if you pre-order the Crepe Wrap Dress, you’ll also get 10% off all non-clearance fabrics in the shop (enter COLETTECREPE as a discount code in the shopping basket), so it’s the perfect opportunity to choose your fabric as well…

..and as if that isn’t enough, I’ve also put together a fantastic pattern pack featuring the Crepe dress made out of a choice of 10 stunning Liberty poplin prints! The pattern pack costs from only £35, which represents a saving of over £11 compared to buying all the items needed separately (the kit includes the pattern; Liberty poplin fabric and optional contrast; lightweight interfacing; and matching thread). Check it out here.

That’s fast work on the pattern packs, I am impressed! I’m going to be away the week these hit the shops, but this is definitely going to be an early October payday treat. Finding a wrap dress that decently covers my chest is a real struggle, and I think this will be just the ticket! x
