We had a great response to the competition we’ve just run in conjunction with the Sewing Directory, with 66 entries across both of our blogs and Twitter!
Entries are now closed and the winners have been drawn…
but before we get on to the winners, here’s a short explanation of how they were selected. First we noted down all of the names of the people who commented against the Sewbox blog, adding duplicate bonus entries for those who blogged about the competition as well, and also adding in those Twitter peeps who RT’d Sewbox’s tweet about the competition today. Each entry was assigned a number. We then used a random number generator to pick a number at, you guessed it, random! The first number we picked was for the sewing kit bundle prize. We then got the random number generator to choose a second random number, for one of the books. We then did exactly the same for the Sewing Directory blog and tweets, so all in all there are four prize winners.
And the prize winners are….
From the Sewbox blog / tweets
- “Meghan” wins an all-in-one sewing kit bundle consisting of the Colette Sencha pattern, with red and white spotty John Kaldor fabric.
- “Leah Rose” wins the “Hand-Me-Ups” book donated by David & Charles.
From the Sewing Directory blog / tweets
- “Helenjwright” wins an all-in-one sewing kit bundle consisting of the summer wrap dress (Vogue V8379) with navy floral fabric.
- “Bev_Metallica” wins the “Button & Stitch” book donated by David & Charles.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that both Meghan and Helenjwright were the first comments against both blogs – this is a complete fluke! We promise that the random number generator was tested properly and was generating randomness; when it drew the first comments for both blogs we felt it only fair to stick with its selection rather than re-draw just because it looked a bit odd.
Anyway, congratulations to the winners, we hope you enjoy the prizes!! For the sewing kit bundle winners, please do send Sewbox pictures of your finished creations : I hope to start a “Reader’s Showcase” shortly on the blog and/or website, and it’d be great to feature the results of your efforts!
