By Hand London patterns – Charlotte Skirt and Elisalex Dress in stock …..
By Hand London is an independent sewing pattern label for women who love to dress up, stand out and customise their own wardrobe. The designs themselves are an up-to-date take on classic silhouettes and so act as a canvas for your unique look. Creating patterns inspired by and named after the stylish ladies we know and admire, By Hand London is all about championing individual style and celebrating strong femininity.
Charlotte skirt – A high waisted pencil skirt with peplum and hem ruffle variations. This skirt has been designed with an hourglass figure in mind, allowing a generous amount of ease at the hips. For beginners. £10
Elisalex dress – An elegant dress with a low scooped back, princess seamed, fully lined bodice, box pleated tulip skirt and exposed zipper at centre back. There are three sleeve variations and the bodice is designed with very little ease to enhance the waist. £12
When contacted last autumn by Charlotte Hintzen (co-founder with Elisalex De Castro Peake) about the new By Hand London patterns being launched I was busy on other Projects – so have only just got around to stocking these gorgeous patterns!! My error, and I have of course apologised to these lovely and very talented ladies for this delay.
They have an active blog, and sewing tutorials (including the Charlotte skirt pattern) as well as ‘showing you how to hack up your old clothes or make something entirely new from scratch (with maybe a couple cocktail recipes thrown in as well)’.
