One week in…

One week in ………………………..

I can hardly believe that one week  has now passed since taking over Sewbox.  You will have read from my blog of last Monday, that I am Susan Stevenson and that I have taken over the running of Sewbox from Leah last week.  It has been a very busy week and thank you again to Leah for her continued help and support.

My aim for Wk 1  was  to ensure all Patterns are ‘in stock’….

My focus has been on re-stocking the current pattern ranges ie Hot Patterns, Colette etc  to ensure all of these Patterns that we advertise, are showing as ‘in stock’ on the website.  These re-stock orders are now en route from the US and will shortly be with us.  Hot Patterns have 4 new dressmaking Patterns – the Classic Nouveau Dressy Jean and the Classix Nouveau Scarf Shirt which we are just re-stocking and 2 new additional patterns which we will be stocking – the very cool Metropolitan Agostini  Moto jacket, and the Metropolitan Slouchy Trouser Jean.  All 4 will be  ‘in stock’ over the next couple of weeks.

New Pattern range to be stocked by Sewbox ….

I am pleased to announce that we will shortly be increasing our range to include Sewaholic  Patterns. This is a recently launched line by Tasia who lives in Vancover, Canada. The Sewaholic range will feature a small line of wardrobe essentials for the pear-shaped woman. Starting with the Pendell skirt, which will be showing on the website in the next two weeks and further patterns to follow as launched.

More Pattern ranges to follow ..

Further pattern ranges will be introduced over the next month to give maximum choices of patterns to yourselves.

What will be focus for this next week …. expanding the fabric range …….

Watch this space,  Liberty print stretch jerseys will be available on the Site very shortly – ideal for spring and summer dressmaking.  We will also be including some bright and exciting Michael Miller cottons within the next few weeks – suitable for all types of sewing projects including quilting.

Happy sewing

That’s brilliant, I’ve recently come across Sewaholic and being a pear myself I’m quite interested in patterns designed for that body type. I’m interesting to see how her next pattern comes out. I’ve got a long sewing wish list but her patterns are rising to the top quickly as are the Colette Crepe Patterns especially as everyone seems to have been doing Gerties Crepe Sew Along. Some great print jerseys would be fab as I seem to have difficulty finding good jersey and generally great apparel fabrics as we have access to beautiful quilting fabrics but not so much on the dress making side. Looking forward to seeing how Sewbox progresses……

Good luck with your new venture

Hi Susan

Welcome to the wonderful world of internet sewing.
I have purchased lots of lovely things off Leah over the last 12 months, tonight I have made a polo neck top with some jersey material from Leah which prompted me to see how the site was getting on. I would like to wish you good luck in your new venture and also wish Leah all the best with her future too.
As for products I would love to see on the website well I really like sewing with stretch materials be them Lycra mixes/spandex or jersey fabrics, they can be difficult to find in the shops so I know they would sell well for you. I purchase kwik sew patterns which seem to do lots for this kind of material so please keep stocking them.

Best wishes for now.

I’m a new customer to Sewbox, having bought the Collette Beignet pattern last month and was happy with the service. I can’t wait to see your new fabrics and I’m really pleased that you’re going to get Sewaholic patterns. It’s nice to have a site where you can buy everything you need -I for one do not enjoy browsing lots of online stores. I’m excited to see what happens.

I’m so happy that sewbox is keeping going, lots of tempting things to discover. I was very happy to be introduced to Hotpatterns though I have a question about HP1108. I’ve just cut out the pattern pieces and the yoke neck looks a very strange shape…has any one made this great looking shirtdress/tunic? please!
I do wish the pattern pieces were on tissue paper, so much easier to use but they offer some fantastic shapes and designs so looking forward to seeing the new stock.
