About Sewbox

Welcome to Sewbox - a new way to shop for your dressmaking supplies!

Sewbox features carefully hand-selected, modern, stylish sewing patterns and beautiful fabrics, available individually or in convenient all-in-one sewing kits containing everything else you need to make up a particular pattern such as matching threads, linings, and interfacings.

I am by no means an experienced sewer, and  I started Sewbox because when I did finally find the time to sew something, I was frustrated at how difficult it was to find supplies. There is no haberdashery near me so I would spend hours trawling the internet to find everything. I’d spend ages trawling through pages of patterns til I found one I liked: then it was even harder to find exciting,

inspiring fabrics. And of course once I had the fabrics I would need to search for all the other bits such as thread, interfacing, zips etc. By the time I was finished I’d more often than not be looking at buying from 2 if not 3 shops, each with their own postage charge, so the whole project was becoming exceedingly expensive. More often than not I’d give up and put the sewing machine away.

I saw this as a perfect opportunity to create a convenient, fashion-conscious sewing shop that offered all the items you need to make a particular outfit in one place. I have spent many hours trawling through pattern catalogues and fabric warehouses to carefully hand-select the most modern and beautiful patterns and fabrics. My aim is to make shopping for your sewing supplies a fun and

enjoyable experience for all you stylish sewers out there, whether you are a beginner or an experienced seamstress! By finding everything you’ll need in one place, you’ll have more time to concentrate on the sewing – and you’ll have more time to show off your creation to friends and plan where you’re going to wear your gorgeous new outfit!
